San Churro: CREMA CATALANA

I might have mentioned recently in a previous blog post that I may have found the piece de resistance of hot chocolates at San Churros. And I might have also hinted that I recently visited there with a couple of friends and might have enjoyed a dessert, or two.
I decided to try out something a little different and the Crema Catalana from their dessert menu captured my attention. Boasting to be a version of the traditional Spanish dessert, I was immediately intrigued. Upon reading further I knew I had to try it: a thick and velvety baked vanilla creme, freshly scorched to create a trip toffee layer.
Served with additional mini churros and their rich vanilla ice cream and I was sold. I have always boasted to be having a sweet tooth but even I couldn't finish this velvety decedent dessert!
